iPhone2Mac Support
Setup and troubleshooting for the iPhone/iPad controller and your own Mac.
Requirements
iOS or iPadOS 16 or later and macOS 13 or later. Both devices must be on the same local network. The Mac companion is required for computer control. You can explore the clearly labelled local demo without a Mac or permissions.
Pair a session
Open the Mac companion and generate an invitation. Scan it on the phone, confirm the destination and approve the connection on the Mac. Explicitly enable this session’s input on the phone. If scanning is unavailable, use manual pairing with the current invitation. Each invitation expires after five minutes; generate a new one rather than sharing an old code.
Enable actual mouse and keyboard control
The Mac starts in a demonstration canvas. To control the system, open macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, grant control to the companion and enable real input in it. Changing input mode ends the current connection; create a new invitation. Keep the Mac visible while using it. Screen-recording access is not required.
Cannot connect
Check that both devices are on the same LAN and that Wi-Fi client isolation, a VPN or a firewall is not blocking communication. Open the app’s system settings if local-network access was denied. On macOS 15 or later, also check Privacy & Security → Local Network. If the camera was denied, open iOS settings or choose manual pairing. Do not disable TLS or share pairing secrets.
Disconnected or text result unknown
Backgrounding the phone, locking or sleeping the Mac, stopping the session or losing the connection ends input. Reconnect with a new invitation and explicitly enable input again. Drafts remain during the current process, but text is never replayed automatically. Check the foreground Mac app before resending uncertain text. “Mac received” confirms protocol receipt, not insertion into the foreground app.
Get help
Email support with your app version, device models, OS versions and a short description of what happened. A screenshot is optional; remove private information first. Do not include the invitation, pairing key, passwords or private text. We do not need access to your Mac to answer a setup question.
